River of No Return

MIDFIELDER River Allen is leaving Tiverton Town.

The end of the skilful playmaker's fourth spell with the Yellows sees him depart the Ian Moorcroft Stadium having made a total of 94 appearances for the club, scoring 26 goals and creating many more.

The former club captain leaves Ladysmead with the grateful thanks of Tivvy supporters who have appreciated the 28-year-old's skills over many seasons.

Plymouth-born Riv enjoyed one season as a professional at his hometown Argyle in 2014, making four appearances before being released by manager John Sheridan.

He first played for Tiverton in 2018, impressing in a short loan spell from Truro City before making the move to Devon permanent.

He then returned to Truro City in 2018–2019, before a third spell at Ladysmead in 2019-20, when he was made club captain and during which he scored 15 goals in 30 matches.

A stint at Plymouth Parkway followed between 2020–2022 before a fourth spell with Tiverton Town beginning in 2022.

The past season was his most prolific in terms of appearances (38) and starts (36).

Everyone at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium thanks River for his contribution to the cause and wishes him nothing but the best for the future.
