No.9 Dream

ROB Dray believes new signing Nat Jarvis is "going to tick all the boxes" for Tiverton.

The 33-year-old Antigua & Barbuda international forward has joined Yellows' new manager to spearhead the drive up the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South table.

Nat previously played under Rob at Taunton before a short and productive stint at Newport City earlier this season.

Rob said: "For me, signing him is a real statement, him wanting to come down and sign for us is a really, really good sign. I'm really pleased with it.

"He's got it all and I think it's a real testament to his character that he wants to come to us now. He's a great lad to have around the place; he's an absolute winner; and he's just going to tick all the boxes for us at this precise moment in time.

"He's proven proper old school No. 9 in this league, and a magnificent character on and off the pitch. He's strong as a bull; he will score goals; and will certainly help our existing forwards.

"He'll retain the ball really well for us and he'll allow a lot of things to happen; we'll be able to keep the ball in the opposition half a lot better now, as well."

Nat met up with his new team-mates for the first time at Ladysmead at the weekend, before their game against Hanwell Town.

Rob said: "I'm really pleased with this signing, and he was introduced the lads on Saturday and they're really, really pleased that he's coming into the squad. He's going to make a big difference for us."

The Tivvy manager also hinted that Nat could be joined by one or two more new faces in the days ahead as he puts his own stamp on the Yellows.

"It's just the start," said Rob. "It's a real statement signing, as I said, one of a couple that are coming to us at the moment."
