CRAIG Woodman has announced his retirement.

Craig, 41 this month, hangs up his boots after nearly a quarter of a century of playing, during which time he racked up more than 750 appearances, including 82 for his home-town Yellows.

The defender signed for Tiverton in the summer of 2020, 20 years after setting out on a long and productive career with Bristol City, the first of three clubs for whom he played a century of matches.

The second was Wycombe Wanderers, with whom he won promotion from Sky Bet League Two, and the third Exeter City. He played more than 275 times for the Grecians over eight seasons before returning home to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium.

He also played for Brentford and had loan spells early in his career at Mansfield and Torquay.

We wish Craig all the very best and thank him for his contribution to the Yellows' cause and for representing the town so well on the football stage. He will always be a welcome guest at Ladysmead.
