BEFORE Saturday's Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South game, we have the opportunity to pay our respects to all those who laid down their lives during the the conflicts of the First and Second World Wars and, more recently, the Falklands War.
More than 350 locals died during those hostilities and we will proudly remember them in a special Act of Remembrance, and with a unique edition of the match-day programme that names every one of the those Tivertonians who sacrificed their today for our tomorrow.
The names are printed in alphabetical order, regardless of rank, status or service.
On Saturday, we will be joined today by members of The Royal British Legion (Tiverton Branch) and our thanks go to Doc Savage for his help and advice during preparations.
Bugler Tina Pillivant will also be playing the Last Post as we observe a period of silence prior to kick-off. Team captains will place wreaths in each goal.
Supporters of both teams are always proud of wearing their club colours but, on Saturday, we come together as one in remembering those who made it possible for future generations to enjoy the freedoms we hold so dear.
