Good afternoon, Yellows,

As of yesterday, in case you missed our huge news announcement, our home ground is no longer the Ian Moorcroft Stadium, from now on it will be known as the Slee Blackwell Solicitors stadium and I am absolutely delighted to welcome the Slee Blackwell team to our club; they have shown their desire to support our club and our mission to turn this club into a community-focused one. They have recently opened a new branch in Tiverton and it would be great if we, as a group, could support them as much as possible.

The name change doesn’t mean that Ian has stepped down from his position, far from it. He is still as enthusiastic as he has ever been and is fully supportive of the change and everything that comes with it.

It is tough at the moment, isn’t it ? This league is a really competitive one and, if you struggle in both 18-yard boxes, you will not win games. We are struggling to score and finding it difficult to keep clean sheets. That has resulted in us being in the position we are in and it is not where any of us want to be. A dogged win at home to Wimborne was a ray of light two weeks ago but we could not build upon it with a loss at Sholing last weekend. That loss was somewhat controversial, with two goals ruled out despite looking like they were legitimate, but that is football for you. What I do know is that we have enough quality to get out of this and, with Rob, Connor and Steven, we have the expertise, knowledge and experience to put a run together, but time is running out. Stick with it, give the lads your support and let us hope the tide turns in our favour.

Behind the scenes, we are making some real progress. In January, we welcomed Lee Derrick to the club as our new Commercial Manager. Lee is a fantastic guy with a wealth of experience in this role, I have no doubt he will make a positive impact on the club.

We also welcomed Jake Crump, who joins as part of our Media Team, and he has some exciting ideas on how to build upon the fantastic work Rick Cowdery has done over the last 18 months. A word on Rick - he came on board during a difficult time for the club and put in a cracking shift as Media Manager. I will forever be grateful for all of his help, support and work during his time with us; he is a gentleman.

We continue to make good progress in the development of your ground, the installation of a 3G pitch, LED floodlights, a grant for a new tractor and building of new changing rooms. Updates on how we`re getting on will follow soon.

Onwards and Upwards.

Matthew
