TIVVY manager Leigh Robinson is doubly delighted to have strengthened the Yellows' defence with two young players who have impressed during a testing pre-season campaign.
Former Plymouth Argyle Academy player Jeff Forkuo and ex-Yate, Paulton and North Leigh man Kyle Anderson have joined the Tiverton roster following successful trials.
"We’re really pleased to add Jeff to the squad," said Leigh.
"He’s a player of real quality on the ball and we needed further options in centre midfield to add to the vastly experienced options we already have there."
Kyle has been something of a slow-burner in his pre-season performances but has come good and delighted Leigh with his noticeable improvement.
"I’ve rarely seen a player improve so much game to game during pre-season," he said.
"Kyle was understandably rusty in our first game at Wells. Turns out he missed a lot of games at the end of last season with a virus, but has gone from strength to strength since.
"I’ve loved watching how aggressive and front foot he’s been against some good opposition. We think there is a real quality centre-half in there when we can get him fully fit and up to speed."
Leigh also revealed that he and assistant Ben Gerring are not the only ones who have been impacted by Jeff's pre-season displays.
He said: "Jeff has been super impressive in his trial games and Ben and I were getting a serious earbashing from the players about making sure we signed him, which is always a sign in itself."
