TIVERTON manager Leigh Robinson was again left to reflect on fine lines after seeing his Yellows go down 2-0 at Chesham on Tuesday.
Just as with the previous Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Hungerford, the game was closely contested as Tivvy gave as good as they got by a team pushing for promotion from the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South.
Leigh felt that the Yellows should have had a penalty well before Chesham took the lead after an hour and, although happy with much of what he saw, admitted frustration that the visitors' efforts were undone by failing to respond at vital times.
"We are very disappointed to lose a game that we were well in for so long," he said.
"There were probably two key moments in the game - early on, when we failed to get what looked like a clear penalty on Javan [Wright], and their goal on the hour, which we didn’t defend well enough.
"Much like Saturday, we’ve found ourselves on the wrong end of some small margins, but, without question, tonight we’ve found a way to lose, rather than being beaten, which is very frustrating.
"The application, ability and desire is clearly there but, Saturday and tonight, we haven’t quite nailed the key moments and this is what we need to change in the next few games."
