The Future is Now

FRESH beginnings.

Whatever your opinions of the events of the previous seven days, or of the season so far, or of the last year or more, one sentiment is inescapable and incontrovertible – Tiverton Town stands on the precipice of a new era.

Our search for a new men’s first-team manager – the right person to bring, first, stability and, then, success to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium – has begun. The opportunity awaits to build a team of talents within the framework of a progressive club known and admired throughout non-League circles in the Westcountry and beyond.

Our mind is wide open as to who that person might be. If it is you, we would love you to tell us. Applications can be made to Matthew Conridge on 07967 315321 or by email at chairman@tivertontownfc.co.uk. However, do not hang around – we need to hear from you before next Wednesday, October 23.

The immediate priority for the new person at the helm will be to steady a ship that has found this season’s choppy waters in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South difficult to negotiate.

We are not merely looking for a quick on-field fix, though. We are committed to establishing a club for the local community, immersed at the heart of the local community, and run by the local community. We need the manager, his staff, the players, volunteers and supporters to embrace that ethos.

We are following an ambitious plan to move swiftly towards being a community-focused organisation and there are exciting projects being planned and enacted behind the scenes that will benefit the entire club, as well as serving the town and surrounds of Tiverton. This will continue. The new manager will be part of the plan.

A club is nothing without its supporters. Tiverton Town would not be Tiverton Town without the Yellow Army. We will never take that for granted. Ever.

We know we do not have to ask you to get behind the team when they face Sholing at Ladysmead this Saturday, nor to back the new manager when they are appointed – but just because we know that does not mean we do not value it as something extremely precious.

This club has more than 110 years of history.

It is time to write the next chapter.

Together.
