Tiverton Town Football Club and Twyford Spartans Youth Football Club are delighted
to announce the start of a pathway to amalgamating the clubs together for the better
of football across Tiverton and the greater area.
This pathway will provide many benefits to the players and coaches of Twyford
culminate in Twyford Spartans Youth become Tiverton Town Youth over the next
three years. Both clubs will continue to be run by separate Committees but benefit
from being part of the same organisation and from the incoming installation of the
artificial surface in 2026.
Tiverton Town Vice Chairman Matthew Conridge commented "This is the culmination
of many months of hard work from both sides and I’m absolutely delighted with the
result. Our focus has always been to turn Tiverton Town Football Club into one which
is here for the community and to be able to finalise this pathway means the future is
exciting for all".
"I’d like to thank Paul, Joe along with the committee and coaches of
Twyford Spartans for backing what I’m sure will be a historic change for football in
the area". The Committee of Twyford Spartans commented that they "look forward to the clubs
gradually joining together and working towards this in the next few seasons".
To celebrate this announcement, Saturday’s home game against Gosport Borough
will be a ‘Twyford Spartans Youth Day’ where players, managers, committee
members and parents can attend the game completely free of charge.
