MATCH PREVIEW - Truro City (H)

Match Preview

It’s Tivvy’s penultimate pre season game as the Yellows host to National League South side Truro City on Saturday with an 3pm Kick Off at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium

Tuesday’s game with Taunton was a narrow defeat for the yellows with a goal from a Nat Jarvis Header within the first 20 minutes which then followed up with a shootout which also ended up in The Peacocks favour.

But overall it gave Tiv a good run out in pre season and sets us up for Saturday’s fixture with Truro City which’ll be another great chance to ready for the visit of Basingstoke on the 5th August. Tiverton have made a few additions to the team throughout the week as we welcome back Cam Salmon to the Yellows and a newcomer to the side see’s highly rated and Welsh U19’s shot stopper Josey Casa-Grande join from Bristol City on loan.

Truro City are back in the National League South after a few years hiatus from the division, but in different circumstances to where they were last time in the 6th tier by being no longer at Treyew Road and sharing with Plymouth Parkway at Bolitho Park.

Truro have made some very solid signings within the window as they look to try and keep themselves within the NLS first time of asking and the signings which have come along with it are some stellar names. New additions such as Ryan Law, Billy Palfrey and Dan Rooney all come into the White Tigers side for the season and will be able to make an impact on the pitch.

Ultimately last season Truro went up via the playoffs with a win away at the time newly promoted Bracknell Town who had also shown quality and lots of courage throughout the season to defy the odds.

Being Cornwall’s premier club, Truro have a lot of reputation behind them and with Mousehole creeping up the divisions to become Kernow’s second team they’d be hoping to hold their national league south status for several years to come.

How to get to Ladysmead From Truro

By Public Transport: Board the train at Truro that goes south to either Plymouth or direct to Tiverton Parkway. If you have to get off at Plymouth, join up with a train that heads towards Tiverton.

From Parkway station, head on the 373 bus from the station towards Tiverton town itself and then a short walk through the town gets you to the ground.

By Car: Start in Truro city centre where you head up the A39 and join up at Carland Cross with the A30. From there the A30 continues onto all the way to Exeter and then you linkup with the M5 and head north towards Junction 27.

From Junction 27 you join the A361 towards the Bolham roundabout, first exit and you’ll continue down that road around a mile later and a quick right will take you to the club.
