MATCH PREVIEW - Taunton Town (A)

Match Preview - Written By: Fin Keens

It’s the pre season campaign’s final away game and it see’s the Yellows travel to National League South side and M5 Rivals Taunton Town on Tuesday with an 7:45 Kick Off.

A huge result at Brixham on Saturday has broken the chain of losses and draws and has put the lads in good stead for Tuesday’s outing in Somerset. A hat trick from River Allen, Louis Morison and Tom Bath adding to the scoresheet and we might’ve even seen a 6th as Scott Rogers was flagged for offside.

Tiverton added to the ranks this week also as Jack Veale or as you’ve commonly heard him being called “Trialist” was announced and has made a huge impact to earn a deal with the club, Welcome Jack!

But Taunton don’t take any prisoners, especially on a Derby like this one. It may be pre season but rivalries never change or are put aside for moments like these. The Peacocks themselves have had a good run out during pre season with some decent opponents at the Cygnet.

Taunton have made a couple of signings during the summer, one including a loan off league rivals Yeovil Town as the peacocks add Malachi Linton to their ranks but star player Jake Wannell went the other way to Huish Park to join the Green Army.

Overall this season Taunton are looking for another mid table finish within the National League South and to stabilise in the division whilst they are still on their 6th tier training wheels. But it’s certainly a strong league as former EFL sides collide with new and upcoming non league teams looking to test themselves.

How to get to The Cygnet from Ladysmead

By Public Transport:

Board the X22 from Tiverton Bus Station which will take you into Taunton itself. Then from Taunton Town centre you can catch the 6 bus which will take you to the ground itself

Alternatively, park up at Tiverton Parkway station and head up on the next train north and go one stop to Taunton station and from there navigate through Taunton itself which is fairly easy to do and follow signs towards the Cygnet.

By Car: Head up towards the Bolham roundabout to join up with the A361 towards the M5 and at junction 27 join up with the M5. From the M5 keep going northbound until Junction 25 and then turn off onto the roundabout where you take the second exit. Follow that until you get to the next roundabout which you then take the first exit and a short distance up the next road and another left and you’re at Taunton Town.
