Devon St Lukes Bowl Quarter Final: Okehampton Argyle v Tiverton Town
7.30 pm Kick Off.
After victories away at Axminster and at home against Ilfracombe, the Yellows’ travel to Okehampton Argyle home ground, Simmons Park for this Evening’s Quarter Final tie. The fixture reversed, as part of the competition’s rules after cancellations.
Rob Dray will once again give youth a chance, with Alan Findlay's Under 18's certain to be involved and also give game time to squad Player’s that haven't had too many minutes recently.
South West Peninsula Premier side Okehampton arrive at this stage of The Devon St Lukes Bowl, having accounted for Western League Brixham in The First Round and fellow Peninsula side Newton Abbot Spurs in Round Two.
Creative midfielder Adam Bilcock made a handful of appearances for Tivvy in the 2014/15 season and his since played for the likes of Crediton and Exmouth. The former Exeter City youngster isn’t the only former Yellow in Argyle’s ranks.
Ex Willand striker Luke Mortimore had a brief spell with us in the 2015/16 season. Prolific at Silver Street, Mortimer has a good goals per game ratio at Okehampton and formed a formidable partnership with our recent signing from Argyle Dan Koita, who will be Cup tied this evening.
The Simmons Park team are managed by former Bideford and Barnstaple forward player Kevin Squire. Squire was appointed last June and his side sit in Sixth place in the Peninsula League East.
Saturday’s scheduled WCP Cup Quarter Final, away at Cullompton Rangers, fell victim to the weather. The last time Argyle were in action they were held to a 2-2 draw by Honiton Town on February 8th.
This will be a valuable learning experience for many of our talented youngsters, when they take to the field later today.
