He's a Keeper

TIVVY have secured the services of exciting young goalkeeper Joe Duncan until the end of the season.

Joe, 18, has been highly impressive since joining the Yellows on loan from Bristol City two months ago, and manager Rob Dray is delighted the Robins have agreed that their gloveman can continue as Tivvy's last line of defence for the remainder of the campaign.

"Joe has been a revelation," said Rob. "For such a young 'keeper to come in at this level and to perform like he has - you actually don't see that very often - it quite a rarity - so it is absolutely massive for us.

"He's kept in games this season, and the senior players have got full confidence in him.

"He's great around the place, too. He's fully immersed himself in in his loan club as well, which is which is also very big."

Joe's prodigious talents were never more in evidence than last Saturday, when he preformed heroics against Pitching In Southern League Premier South leaders Merthyr Town to help earn Yellows a point.

Ladysmead has seen more than its share of very good goalkeepers over the years, and Rob would not be at all surprised to see Joe add his name to that list.

He said: "The situation reminds me of when I had a lad called Jack Bycroft on loan from Southampton a few years back. Jack's now the number one at Swindon.

"He's a lovely kid, as well. So we are really, really, pleased to have him for the for the rest of the season."
