IT did not take too much to persuade Matt Britton to sign on for a third successive season at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium.
Matt, 29, is determined that the Yellows’ struggles in 2023-24 will prove a springboard for a successful Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South campaign this time around.
“I just enjoy the whole club in general,” said the man who joined Tivvy from Swindon Supermarine in the summer of 2022.
“The fans are good; we've had a good group of lads for the past few years; and we always seem to attract good players.
“The general atmosphere is appealing.”
Britts joins new signing Leighton Thomas, and the re-engaged Niall Thompson, Dylan Jones and Javan Wright at Ladysmead, with more signings – new and old – in the pipeline.
Matt said: “We’ve retained some good players from last year and obviously a few have moved on, which is disappointing. Speaking to Leigh and Gez [assistant manager Ben Gerring], I'm looking forward to playing with the new signings coming in and to the new season.
“Hopefully we’ll have a strong year. Thinking of last year, it was a bit tough, just scraping it at the end. The aim will be to push on; get some good players through the door; and look for the higher end of the table.
“It’s been good to have some time off and to be able to go on a couple of holidays, but when pre-season comes around again, I’ll be ready to go and I’m looking forward to it.”
Matt Britton is available for sponsorship for the 2024-25 season. If you would like to sponsor him, or for further details, please email chairman@tivertontownfc.co.uk
