AN era has come to an end with the news that our venerable Head Groundsman for more than three decades, Gordon Curtis, has decided to retire from the position that he has graced up to and including his recent 80th birthday.

Assistant Groundsman Les Williamson, who has been assisting Gordon for more than a decade, has also hung up his fork and wellies.

Les

The club - everyone who follows Tiverton Town - will be forever in debt of these two gentlemen, who have toiled season in season out, throughout every type of weather and at all hours, to provide the Yellows with a surface on which to play and entertain. As volunteers.

Simply, Tiverton Town would not be Tiverton Town without Gordon and Les.

‘Thank you’ barely covers it. We are grateful beyond words.

Enjoy your retirement, gents.
