IT was third time lucky for the Young Yellows at the weekend after they knocked Holsworthy out of the League Cup, winning 5-2 at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium.
An early goal for Zak Moran and two in quick succession from Cody Stansfield saw the Under-18s go into half-time 3-2 up, having conceded an own goal and a penalty.
Holsworthy continued to ask questions of Tivvy in second half but the boys cranked up the quality and two more great team goals finished by Sunny Webber and Harrison Jordan put the tie to bed.
There were lots of strong performances but player of the match plaudits went to Will Findlay, who played a pivotal role in calmly controlling the midfield and providing a platform for the team to build on.
Special mention to 16-year-old George Budden for competently officiating his first Under-18s match and to Caleb Palmer and Bradley Westlake for giving up their spare time to help prep the ground and changing rooms.
