Come On You Spartans

THE young players of Twyford Spartans Youth Football Club and their families are in for a treat next Saturday, courtesy of Tiverton Town FC.

The Yellows are inviting all the players of the Tiverton-based junior teams to their home game against Winchester City absolutely free of charge. The no-cost admission to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium also extends to an accompanying parent or carer.

The game, on Saturday, February 10, is Tiverton’s latest in their battle to stay in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South for next season. The two teams met recently in the reverse fixture in Hampshire, when Winchester narrowly won 2-1, so the Yellows will be looking for a quick revenge.

Tiverton Town Vice-Chairman Matthew Conridge  said: “We would love to welcome as many young Spartans as possible to the game. We are great supporters of youth football and see our close relationship with them as win-win for both of us, as well as for the town of Tiverton.

“It underlines our commitment  to be a club for the local community, immersed in the local community, and run by the local community.

“We know they will enjoy the match - we are playing some very attractive football under new manager Leigh Robinson and our last home game against Poole saw the best performance by a Yellows’ side for several seasons.

“We believe the Spartans can cheer us to another vital three points.”

Gaining free admission to the match is simple - all the young Spartan has to do is wear their official club coat or tracksuit top and they will be waved through the turnstile.
