TIVERTON Town have reached a mutual agreement with Leigh Robinson that will see him leave the club after a year as our men’s first-team manager.
A similar arrangement has been agreed with Leigh's assistant, Ben Gerring.
Everyone at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium thanks Leigh and Ben for their dedication and commitment over the past 12 months.
They took over at a particularly difficult time in the club's history, when relegation from the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South looked likely, and steered us to safety.
Their professionalism, dedication and devotion to Tiverton Town has been faultless; they are really good guys; and we are incredibly grateful for all that they have done for us during their time here.
However, Leigh, Ben and the Tiverton Committee all agree that, despite the best will and strenuous efforts of all, results this season have not been good enough and believe it is in the best interests of both parties to go their separate ways.
The club wishes to make clear that Leigh and Ben leave Ladysmead on excellent terms and they will always be warmly welcomed back to the Ian Moorcroft Stadium.
We will now conduct a thorough recruitment process for a new managerial team.
Leigh was appointed Tiverton Town manager in October 2023, succeeding the long-serving Martyn Rogers. He appointed Ben as his assistant shortly afterwards.
After a difficult campaign, the pair kept Tiverton in the Premier Division South of the Southern League thanks, in no small part to a late-season rally when they had previously looked doomed.
With high hopes for the current campaign, Yellows have found it hard to gain any significant momentum and currently sit in the league's relegation places having picked up just two wins from their opening 11 games. They also exited the Emirates FA Cup and Isuzu FA Trophy at the first hurdle.
The club welcomes applications for the position of men’s first-team manager. For details, or to register an interest, contact Matthew Conridge on 07967 315321 or by email at chairman@tivertontownfc.co.uk before Wednesday, October 23.
